The West Hartford Women’s Chorale (WHWC) is an ensemble of female singers who perform classical, jazz and popular music.
Its mission is to provide a fun, challenging opportunity for artistic growth and development, regardless of prior vocal music training or experience to all women who share the love of singing. WHWC seeks to provide continuing vocal music education in our community through performances and community collaborations.
Founded in 2004, the group is led by co-presidents Karen Bachman and Sheila Nussbaum and a board who assist a professional music director.

In September 2008, WHWC will hold auditions for placement in its newest choral ensemble, the West Hartford Women’s Camerata.
Camerata is a small, auditioned choir designed to compliment the performances of the West Hartford Women’s Chorale by performing works more suited to that of a small ensemble.
Camerata will also rehearse weekly on Tuesdays from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Due to the shortened rehearsal time, members will be required to learn their music on their own, outside of rehearsals. There will be an additional tuition fee for members of Camerata in order to cover operating costs. The size of Camerata will range from eight to sixteen singers; most music will be performed in four parts (SSAA). |
